This study consists of both portrait and landscape photographs, as well as, multiple exposures of urban landscapes, be it streets and buildings within the city, or more intimately, interiors of buildings. The multiple exposure processing techniques that I use within the study allows me to minimise the ugliness of litter and other urban ills where needed and to expose the beauty of the scene.
The portrait orientated photographs pander to my obsessive compulsive side, containing strong repetitive elements such as shapes and colours, balanced to a degree by my search for chaos and beauty within my built environment.
The landscape orientated photographs contain a mixture of repetitive elements and more chaotic elements of humans and vehicles. The colours are subdued and yet subtly beautiful. There is also a lovely interplay between light and shadow, with line and texture created by the overlay of the multiple exposures.
